Prions drive meiosis in fungi or, if you want the full title Sexual transmission of the [Het-s] prion leads to meiotic drive in Podospora anserina (via PNAS). What does this really mean? Does 'transmissible spongiform encephalopathy' ring a bell? IF that's too techie, what about Mad Cow and Chronic Wasting?
